Install the EA,
and let the system watch the chart

Your computer only needs MT4 and the Tianshu EA. Follow the steps to verify network, symbol and account. Any broker account can connect; check costs and runtime status as described on the download page.

Installation

Nine steps to install and verify

Have the EA file ready, open MT4 and go in order

Download the EA

Get Tianshu_EA.ex4 from the download page and save it to your desktop.

Open the MT4 data folder

In MT4 choose File → Open Data Folder. On MetaTrader 4 for macOS the same menu opens the app's internal folder in Finder; if nothing happens, see the Mac question below.

Copy into Experts

In the data folder, open MQL4 → Experts and copy Tianshu_EA.ex4 into it.

Refresh the EA list

Refresh the Expert Advisors list in the Navigator; restart MT4 if the file still does not appear.

Open a gold M5 chart

Find your broker's gold symbol in Market Watch and open an M5 chart. USD-quoted gold symbols such as XAUUSD, XAUUSD.s, XAUUSDm, XAUUSD.r, XAUUSD+, GOLD and GOLD.i are detected automatically, with 2- or 3-digit prices. Only if detection fails do you enter your broker's symbol in the ExecutionSymbol setting.

Attach the EA

Navigator → Expert Advisors → drag Tianshu_EA onto the M5 chart.

Allow network access (essential)

Tools → Options → Expert Advisors: tick "Allow WebRequest for listed URL" and add https://www.trde.cn. Without this the EA cannot activate or receive signals. Users far from the server (Europe, the Americas) connect normally; the EA waits at most 5 seconds per request.

Check license and risk settings

Demo and live accounts are free until December 31, 2026 (Beijing time, UTC+8); paid plans start on January 1, 2027. During the free period, leave LicenseKey empty and the EA connects automatically. Broker costs are managed automatically; if you have a verified commission quote you can enter the cost per lot. Position management adapts to the account type. Upgrades keep your account, settings and trade history.

Use the trading password and confirm it runs on demo

Log in to MT4 with your broker's master (trading) password; the investor (read-only) password cannot trade even with AutoTrading on. Then tick "Allow live trading" on the EA's Common tab and switch on AutoTrading in the MT4 toolbar. The Action line on the chart panel tells you what is still needed (enable AutoTrading, allow WebRequest, switch to M5, use the trading password). "OK: waiting for a cloud entry decision" means the setup is complete. The smiley face and the AutoTrading button only mean the terminal permits trading; they don't mean every risk check has passed.

How do I learn about and install new versions?

The download page shows the latest version, release date and change notes. A connected EA announces newer versions on the chart, and from 2.9.1 the first line of the chart panel also shows "update: vX". Offline or stopped EAs check again after reconnecting. Save your settings, replace the EA on the chart, and your account and trade history are kept; then check the version, connection and position protection. Nothing installs itself.

The EA says it is not licensed

Access is open worldwide. Check WebRequest and your broker connection first; during the free period the license key can stay empty. If the log says an old license is invalid or a risk migration is required, keep the logs and ledger and contact support — don't keep deleting state files.

No smiley face on the chart?

Press the AutoTrading button in the MT4 toolbar so that it is active, and check that the EA is attached to the chart.

Do I need to install Python or anything else?

No. Your computer only needs MT4 and the Tianshu EA. Market data processing and decisions happen on our servers. Never run two execution terminals on the same trading account.

Can I try it on a demo account first?

Strongly recommended. Open an MT4 demo account and run it for a few days to check signals and risk control before considering a live account.

The EA asks me to allow WebRequest

That is MT4's network safety mechanism. Tools → Options → Expert Advisors, tick "Allow WebRequest for listed URL", add https://www.trde.cn and press OK.

Does it work on a Mac?

Yes. Install MetaTrader 4 for macOS from MetaQuotes or your broker's Mac version. File → Open Data Folder opens the MQL4 folder in Finder; copy Tianshu_EA.ex4 into MQL4/Experts and refresh the Navigator. If the menu doesn't open, press ⌘+⇧+G in Finder and go to the MetaTrader 4 folder under ~/Library/Application Support/ (the app name depends on the broker), then drive_c → Program Files → your broker's MT4 → MQL4 → Experts. The panel language can be chosen with the PanelLanguage setting.

Non-USD or cent accounts?

Supported. EUR, GBP, JPY and other accounts, as well as cent (USC) accounts, use the broker's conversion values for risk, plus a safety margin for exchange-rate moves (RiskFxValuationMarginPct, 3% by default).

Can I use an account of 1,000–2,000 USD?

Yes, from 2.9.1. When the 1% risk size is below the broker's minimum lot (usually 0.01), the EA trades the minimum lot as long as its stop-loss risk is no more than 2% of the account (MinLotMaxRiskPct, at most 5%); otherwise it skips the trade and logs why. On a 1,000 USD account a typical trade is 0.01 lots with about 0.9–1.6% risk.

Installed, but it never trades — what to check?

Look at the Action line on the chart panel and "Tianshu STATUS" in the MT4 Experts log: 4060 means WebRequest is not allowed for the URL; a connection failure points to network, firewall or proxy; a symbol mismatch means the chart is not gold or ExecutionSymbol is wrong. Once license, network and AutoTrading are fine, it may simply be waiting for a new entry decision — not trading is not necessarily a fault, and reinstalling won't fix settings. Send support your MT4 account number, broker server name and logs — never your password.

Settings changed after an upgrade?

Save settings and state before upgrading, and check symbol, identity and risk settings afterwards. Don't delete the trade ledger or switch licenses to bypass identity checks. From 2.9.1 the input window shows only the few settings a technician needs; all execution parameters are fixed at their validated values.
